Reuben Owen shares ‘worst thing’ about growing up on camera in candid admission amid new series speculation
Reuben Owen has opened up about the difficulties of farming while being filmed as he is set to return to his solo series, following the success of last year’s programme.
The 21-year-old farmer helmed Our Life in the Dales in 2024 after making his name as the eldest son of Yorkshire Shepherdess Amanda Owen.
The young farmer was speaking with fellow countryside enthusiast Alan Titchmarsh, 75, on his ITV show Love Your Weekend.
Titchmarsh began his interview by asking Owen how he felt about his lifestyle, both on the farm and in front of cameras.

The host asked: “Did it feel idyllic when you were growing up?”
“It had times when it was hard,” Owen admitted.
However, he assured fans: “We had some great times there. I think the worst thing about it is the weather, but other than that it was a brilliant place to grow up.”
Titchmarsh then asked if Owen became used to the “additional pressure” of appearing on television when at work.
“Not really,” he admitted, but tempered that by adding: “I’ve known it since I was very young and it’s brought all sorts of opportunities.”
“I’ve always kind of enjoyed doing it,” he added.
However, Owen conceded one element of filming still stuck in his craw.
He exclaimed: “It seems whenever anything goes wrong, a camera turns up!”
To illustrate his point, he recalled “a bit of a disaster” from the first series of his own show.
In an attempt to do some road repairs at the behest of his mother, a 28-ton digger had become stuck in the mud.
“Then everyone turned up and the cameras were switched on… Anyway, it was one of them things,” he sighed.
Titchmarsh agreed, declaring: “You can guarantee, if there’s a camera around and something goes wrong… they’ll be there. They sniff it out!”
“They do. They do,” Owen confirmed.
The interview comes as a second series of Owen’s own series appeared to have been confirmed by a behind-the-scenes snap posted by a fish and chip shop.
Pictures show Owen smiling for the camera alongside his girlfriend Jessica Ellwood, with the caption reading: “It was great to have Reuben and his crew in today filming and catching a bite to eat.
“After spending some time filming on the beach, they joined our chefs in the kitchen for some more filming before enjoying some food.
