Mrs Hinch rushed to hospital for emergency operation weeks after giving birth as she urges fans ‘trust your gut’

Mrs Hinch has been hospitalised with a blood clot just three weeks after giving birth to her third child, Vinnie, and urged her followers, especially new mothers, to “listen to their gut” when thinking something is wrong.

The cleaning influencer, whose real name is Sophie Hinchliffe, revealed the health emergency to her 4.8 million Instagram followers from her hospital bed after undergoing surgery.

The star first visited the hospital after having concerns about her condition, but despite her fears, she was sent home.

She shared: “I got put through a CT scan, and they said there’s no blood clot, you can go home,” with her condition worsening once she returned.

“My leg got bigger and bigger. I came back to a different hospital, and they scanned me and said, ‘We need to operate. You’ve got a big blood clot’,” the influencer explained.

The second hospital immediately recognised the severity of her condition, and during the operation, doctors removed the blood clot through her leg rather than her neck.

She began her lengthy explanation by posting an image of her three boys and captioning the image: “Hello everyone! How are you all?

“Sorry, it’s been a while since I caught up on here. But our 3 musketeers are doing amazing. They’re happy. Healthy and thriving… My little love bubble.”

Moving on to where she was and why she was in the hospital, she explained: “But I am here. I am not really sure where to start with this week guys, to be honest. I just thought I’d update you a bit because I share a lot on here, don’t I? The good, the bad, the ugly.

“Anyway, cut a long story short, guys, I had a blood clot in my groin/pelvis/leg area, and I haven’t had one since 2018, and then another one decides to hit me three weeks postpartum.”

Becoming emotional and holding back tears, she continued: “What a 12 months it’s been. But I can’t imagine what’s going on in this hospital above me, below me, everywhere, and I just… I’m not moaning. I’m just sort of updating.

“They hoovered out the blood clot, and they hoovered my stents out. They’ve literally hoovered me, which is ironic, isn’t it?” she joked from her hospital bed.

Keeping positive. The operation went well. They managed to go in through my leg. They didn’t go in through my neck in the end. They hoovered out the blood clot.”

Despite the serious nature of her condition, the cleaning guru maintained her trademark good humour about the procedure and added she was still feeling the effects of the medication: “I think I’ve still got quite a lot of painkillers or anaesthetic in my system.

“I have had a lovely FaceTime with the boys; that was amazing. And I should be back home in my newborn bubble and my little family tomorrow, which is amazing.”

Hinchliffe went on to urge her followers to be vigilant about their health concerns and said: “How mad is that? And that keeps playing on my mind. What if I didn’t come back? Just trust your gut, guys. Trust your bloody gut.

“They’ve said I can go home tomorrow,” she shared. “I cannot wait to smell my boys, pick up Vinnie – that newborn smell. OMG I swear I’m getting withdrawal symptoms from him.

Anyway, over and out, guys, from me and my blood clot. But yeah, lots of love to you all. I can’t wait to wake up in the morning and get home and all the blooming best.”

Posting a video of her two oldest sons and a picture of her newborn, she added: “Hurry up tomorrow when I’ll be back home to this. Just a reminder… ALWAYS trust your guy. You know your own body. Goodnight everyone. Lots of love xxxx.”

She announced the birth of her third son, Vinnie Alan Barker Hinchliffe, on 18th February 2025 and shared the news of his arrival on her Instagram: “Our beautiful little heart healer who entered the world in the month we needed him most.” (sic)

Her hospital dash and the birth of her third son come shortly after the star had a difficult year in 2024 after she suddenly lost her father in April.

Sharing a gallery of images of her father, she emotionally penned: “25th April 2024. My precious Dad passed suddenly but so peacefully whilst he slept. My life, our whole world, has been turned upside down.

“A deep, unimaginable pain I cannot put into words. My loving Dad, Our boys’ beloved Grandad, Your workshop is locked up, and I sleep with the key. I promise to keep your workshop dream going.

“Until we meet and sing together again. Goodnight, Dad, my absolute king. Your Bubberloo. Grief, I’ve learned, is really just love. It’s all the love you want to give but cannot.

“All that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go.”
