Matt Tebbutt in awkward ‘forgotten’ wife exchange with BBC Saturday Kitchen guest: ‘That’s all I’m saying!’
BBC Saturday Kitchen host Matt Tebbutt stumbled into an awkward moment with guest celeb chef Richard Bainbridge.
The 51-year-old host also had to deal with the late appearance of actor and writer Ben Miller during this weekend’s episode.
During the show, Tebbutt’s continued his habit of engaging in some good natured, if occasionally, awkward banter with his fellow chefs.
Bainbridge set about making a dish of sweet cod with wild garlic, glazed carrots, blood oranges and some watercress.

While making the food, Tebbutt asked his guest: “How’s your lovely restaurant Benedict’s?”
Bainbridge revealed his eatery is preparing to celebrate ten years in operation.
“No mean feat currently. Well done you,” Tebbutt cooed.
“It’s an incredible achievement and something Katya and I are extremely proud of,” the guest chef glowed while working away over the food.
A slightly unsure Tebbutt responded: “Katya your lovely wife…?”
“My lovely wife. Yep. I’ve only been on the show for five years and now you’ve learned my wife’s name,” Bainbridge snapped back.
The brief silence was filled with boisterous laughter before Tebbutt fought back with a response.
“There’s other people out there who might not know your wife’s name! That’s all I’m saying…” he pleaded.
While the pair continued on good terms, Bainbridge could not resist needling Tebbutt as he explained a retro cooking method later in the segment.
“It’s quite 1970 so I thought you might know how to make it,” he sniped.
The other guests erupted in laughter while fellow guest chef Ravinder Bhogal decalred: “Cheeky!”
“It wasn’t actually listening sorry!” Tebbutt shot back.
Elsewhere on the show, Ben Miller had to apologise after showing up to the set five minutes late.
Tebbutt joked: “He can literally turn his hand to anything, except setting his alarm clock!”
