Kirstie Allsopp issues warning to London Mayor Sadiq Khan over ‘appalling’ sight: ‘Properly disgusting!’
Channel 4 star Kirstie Allsopp has publicly criticised the state of Euston Station’s taxi rank, issuing a stern warning to London Mayor Sadiq Khan.
The 53-year-old presenter took to social media after spotting what she described as an “appalling” sight during a recent visit to the station.
Allsopp, who hosts Love It or List It alongside Phil Spencer, shared her dismay on X, formerly Twitter, calling the West Garden taxi rank a “pigsty” with litter strewn everywhere.
The television personality expressed her shock at the neglected condition of the area.
In her strongly-worded post on Monday, March 25, Allsopp wrote: “OMG the West Garden taxi rank at Euston Station is a pigsty, litter everywhere, weeks old.”
She continued: “No one looking after the plants, really really shocking & properly disgusting, who has let it get like that?”
The message directly tagged several responsible authorities including Network Rail Euston, Camden Council, the Mayor of London, Visit London and BBC London News.
Her public callout highlighted the neglected state of what should be a presentable gateway to the capital for visitors and commuters alike.

Allsopp later revealed on Instagram that she had issued an ultimatum regarding the unsightly mess.
“I was very upset yesterday to get to Euston Station and find that the state of the taxi rank was appalling.
“I tweeted about it, and if it’s not sorted out by Saturday, I will be personally going with my sons and anybody else I can gather to clean it up myself,” she declared firmly.
The presenter made it clear that her warning was directed at multiple authorities.
“So, Camden Council, Euston station, Mayor of London, you will be warned,” she stated while filming from a car with co-star Phil Spencer.
Her no-nonsense approach demonstrated a commendable commitment to maintaining standards in our public spaces.
During her Instagram live, Allsopp revealed her role as a “very proud Keep Britain Tidy Ambassador,” explaining her particular concern about the station’s condition.
The conversation took an unexpected turn when she disclosed that Phil Spencer had once been fined for dropping litter.
“In a way, I’m pleased because it shows that they are fining people, but in another way, I’m absolutely horrified, and he is too,” she remarked.
Spencer acknowledged his past mistake, responding: “Yeah, horrified, I’m embarrassed. It was a long time ago.”
The exchange highlighted the importance of personal responsibility in maintaining our public spaces.
Following her public criticism, Allsopp was encouraged by followers to share photographic evidence of the littered taxi rank.
However, she was subsequently informed that cleaning staff were already addressing the situation.
The television presenter responded with gratitude, writing: “Thank you so much.”
