Jesy Nelson shares update on pregnancy condition following worrying silence as she remains in hospital
Former Little Mix star Jesy Nelson has shared a positive update on her twin pregnancy after undergoing successful emergency surgery for twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS).
The 33-year-old singer revealed the good news in a video filmed from her hospital room, where she remains under medical supervision.
Nelson, who announced earlier this year that she and boyfriend Zion Foster, 25, are expecting twins, had previously shared that her unborn babies were at risk due to complications with their shared placenta.
The update comes after weeks of silence following her emotional revelation in early March about needing an urgent procedure to protect her babies.
In her Mother’s Day update, Nelson confirmed that the operation to treat TTTS had been successful.
“The TTTS has cleared up; the operation was a success, which is just absolutely incredible. We are so, so lucky to have the most amazing doctors,” she told her 9.7 million Instagram followers.
Despite this positive development, Nelson explained she must remain hospitalised due to a new concern.
“Basically, the situation we’re in now is my cervix is very, very short, so I can’t leave the hospital because my waters could break at any point and I’m still very, very early,” she said.

The singer must stay under medical care until she reaches a safer stage in her pregnancy.
Nelson expressed her gratitude for her babies’ continued development, saying: “Every week we’re just like, ‘Please, please, please, stay in there!'”
“We are just so grateful that they are still here and they’re still growing strong,” she added, visibly emotional in the video.
Her partner Zion offered reassurance, stating: “One week at a time, but we’re in such a blessed position to even be able to make this video.”
The couple’s update prompted an outpouring of support from fans and celebrities alike, with Stacey Dooley and Billie Shepherd among those sending well wishes.
In the video, Zion also revealed he will be running the London Marathon in four weeks to raise money for Twins Trust charity.
“We spoke with them and we heard so much about the amazing work that they do for twins, for families of twins, for midwives, and they literally save lives,” he explained.
The decision was deeply personal for the expectant father.
“With Jess going through what she’s going through, as much as I’m going through it too, I feel like I’m not really carrying the babies…
“This was my way of saying, ‘I’m going to throw myself in the deep end!'”
The couple asked fans to donate to the organisation that supports families affected by twin pregnancies.
