Declan Donnelly issues cheeky marriage jibe as he and Ant McPartlin celebrate historic Newscastle cup win

Ant and Dec were left screaming with joy as they celebrated Newcastle United’s historic Carabao Cup victory over Liverpool at Wembley on Sunday.

Donnelly, one half of the Geordie presenting duo, couldn’t resist making a humorous admission during the jubilant scenes.

The pair were in attendance at the legendary London stadium to see their beloved Northeast club.

Newcastle United ended their 70-year trophy drought with a thrilling 2-1 victory over Liverpool, with tensions remaining high till the last moments owed to a late goal from the scouse side.

The Magpies claimed their first major trophy since the 1955 FA Cup final in front of the packed stadium.

Local hero Dan Burn and striker Alexander Isak netted the crucial goals for manager Eddie Howe’s side.

Decked out in their black and white scarves, the I’m A Celebrity hosts shared a selfie video on social media of their celebrations at the final whistle.

“Well? We did it!” Donnelly said before the pair erupted into cheers.

Eyes scrunched shut, the presenters bellowed “yes” to the sky.

“Toot toot. I’ve lost my voice. Oh my god, this is amazing,” a hoarse McPartlin croaked.

An emotional Donnelly breathed: “I can’t believe it. This is the best day of my life!

“Apart from my wedding, and the kids,” he quickly added as his presenting partner nodded along with a grin

A mischievous Donnelly then declared: “But it’s the best day of my life.”

The pair then began another round of cheering as they signed off.

Elsewhere, fellow Geordie and Newcastle club legend shared his excitement at the win on social media.

The 54-year-old posted a photo with Burn on Instagram, writing: “He is from f***ing Blyth man. The Geordie hero. What a week Big Dan Burn.”

Shearer also shared a picture with the Magpies Brazilian midfielder Joelinton, captioning it: ‘Big f***ing Joe’.
