Christina Trevanion issues urgent plea to fans as BBC Bargain Hunt star shows support for ‘legend’ co-stars
BBC favourite Christina Trevanion has urged fans and social media followers to help out “if you can” in an Instagram plea.
The Bargain Hunt presenter, 43, shared a post in support of her BBC colleagues, Gethin Jones and Helen Skelton, who are taking on a gruelling challenge for Comic Relief.
The Morning Live presenters have decided to roller-skate for 24 hours to raise money for the annual charity event.
The show’s official Instagram shared an update about it, with Trevanion re-posting to her own Story and adding the plea: “Complete legends. Please donate if you can.”
The post included a link to donate to the cause, which hopes to raise funds for causes across the UK and abroad.
It read: “It’s the final countdown for Gethin and Helen’s Wheely Big Challenge for Comic Relief!
“Where, from Thursday 20th March, 10am, they’ll be roller skating for 24 hours. To support them and to donate, head to bbc.co.uk/skate or scan the QR code.”
Other BBC stars also shared their support in the comments, with The One Show star Alex Jones writing: “Good luck to these absolute warriors!”

Trevanion’s post comes following her candid discussions about the presenter’s horrendous “deepfake” ordeal.
The mother-of-two recently took part in a candid conversation to raise awareness of the worrying and growing issue, which sees AI being used to place people’s faces in often pornographic and explicit material.
Morning Live host Jones introduced the sensitive subject on the show earlier this month, telling viewers: “Here at Morning Live we don’t shy away from talking about difficult topics, and today we’re looking at the rise of deepfakes.”
The antiques expert went on to detail: “Often, the reaction from the public has been kind and sweet and supportive. But I would say probably over the last couple of years, there has been a noticeable shift, and at times it can be quite intrusive and upsetting.
“Last September, I discovered that my image had been used to create phony, explicit videos known as deepfake porn. I was sent a very long list of sensitive URLs, where my head had been AI’d onto pornographic videos and images.”
Touching on the horrible realisation, she explained: “It was a sense of… this is unreal, this can’t be happening.
“Then, as it sort of sunk in, it was… It was deeply distressing.” A tearful Trevanion took a pause as the lasting impact of the ordeal became clear.
“Yeah, really distressing,” she went on, adding: “And I felt… Naïve and stupid.”
Trevanion is hoping her candor about the personal challenge will inspire others to seek help and address the issue head-on.
