Dame Prue Leith, 85, pulls no punches as she delivers savage verdict on Meghan Markle Netflix series: ‘Not a fan!’
Dame Prue Leith has declared she will not be watching the Duchess of Sussex’s new Netflix programme, bluntly stating she is “not a Meghan Markle fan”.
The Great British Bake Off judge, 85, made the candid admission whilst appearing on television this week to promote her own upcoming series.
When asked if she had seen Meghan’s new lifestyle show, Leith responded firmly: “I’ve only read about it, but I honestly wouldn’t watch it.”
When pressed on her reasons, the Bake Off star didn’t hold back and added: “Well, I’m not a Meghan Markle fan.
“I don’t know, all that sort of touchy-feely mindfulness, endless worrying about what creams you put on your hands.
“I just think there’s more to life than how you look and how your friends think of you. I’ve probably alienated half my fans,” she joked on ITV’s Good Morning Britain.

Leith’s criticism comes as Meghan’s show – With Love, Meghan – has achieved surprising commercial success despite being savaged by critics.
The lifestyle series has entered Netflix’s global top 10 most-watched list, reportedly accumulating 2.6 million views in its first week.
Critics have been notably harsh, describing the Duchess’s programme as “gormless”, “pointless”, and “narcissistic”.
The scathing review from Leith was issued on the same day as Meghan announced her new podcast will be called Confessions of a Female Founder.
The Duchess of Sussex confirmed the release date for the new podcast as April 8, 2025, and wrote on her social media: “I’m so excited to share with you something else I’ve been working on: ‘Confessions of a Female Founder,’ my new podcast with @lemonadamedia!”
Lemonada also released a statement to coincide with the new podcast’s launch on their platform.
It read: “As Meghan herself navigates the world of entrepreneurship with the upcoming launch of her brand As Ever, be inspired by the real, unfiltered stories and lessons learned from notable female founders- from knowing your worth to trusting your gut, securing investors, and investing in yourself.”
Meghan’s Netflix venture coincides with the launch of her “As Ever” brand, which includes raspberry jam and flower sprinkles prominently featured in the show.
The former Suits actress, 43, has already filmed a second series of the programme, scheduled for release this autumn.
During the Good Morning Britain appearance, Leith also reacted to being impersonated on Saturday Night Live earlier this month.
US actress and comedian Chloe Fineman portrayed the Bake Off judge in a sketch called “Little Red Glasses”.
After watching the clip over, the bakery star noted: “Very funny that… It did make me laugh.”
When co-presenter Kate Garraway mentioned that Lady Gaga had featured in the segment, Leith responded with surprise: “I know, it’s extraordinary, isn’t it?”
